What is Financial Modelling?
Financial Modelling is distinct from financial reporting in that it looks at the future. Financial Modelling includes budgeting but goes far beyond budgeting by helping you make calculated decisions about the future direction and focus of your management effort.
Our work with clients, over the years, has highlighted that many people are following a perception, about their company and its activities, that is often flawed or horribly incorrect. The problem is that they use these perceptions in the creation of their budgets.
The Financial Modelling Methodology
Initial Contact
A face to face meeting is essential. This can be done by either attending one of our courses or organising a free initial meeting at your premises.
Your Champion
It is important that you identify a person who is intimate with your business and systems and preferably holds the responsibility for producing budgets and reports.
Quotation
Based on our communications we will supply you with a quotation for the work to be performed. This quotation is an indication only and is subject to amendment (after discussion with you) once more is known.
Build the Model
The model will be built by your champion, under our guidance, to ensure that you gain detailed and complete in-house knowledge on the construction and working of your model.
Discussing and teaching the model
Your champion, the person who did the development, will present the model to management (we will be present to assist, if necessary) and answer any questions and note any changes required by management.
