3 Things a Potential Acquirer Wants to Know Before Buying Your Business

3 Things a Potential Acquirer Wants to Know Before Buying Your Business

Synchronise (and share) Your Files Online

Dropbox is software that syncs your files online and across as many computers as you wish. This sync is automatic and does not involve emails or other steps to reach the recipients (which may include your home computer).

This is a neat way to share files like monthly management accounts or similar correspondence with members of your management team or your staff.

Put your files into your Dropbox on one computer, and they’ll be instantly available on any other computers that you’ve installed Dropbox on (Windows, Mac, and Linux too!)

Because a copy of your files are stored on Dropbox’s secure servers, you can also access them from any computer or mobile device using the Dropbox website.

Conduct Online Surveys

It’s easy to create your own custom survey form using SurveyMonkey.

Select from over a dozen types of questions: multiple choice, rating scales, drop-down menus, and more! Options allow you to require answers to any question, control the flow with custom skip logic, and even randomize answer choices to eliminate bias.

You can change the color, size, and style of any element in your survey.

Many of my clients are using online surveys to get quick feedback from clients or staff on both important and frivolous subjects.

Personal Debt Reconstruction

I have recently become a shareholder in a new company with headquarters in East London, South Africa.

Its primary and initial product offering is a debt reconstruction programme, which will be extended into business creation and investment programmes with full mentoring all the way.

The official launch date is on the 20th October 2008 in East London, with possible (later) launches in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban (if we can cope with the demand).

Have a look at an example-report for the debt reconstruction programme and let me know if you want more information.

Personal Financial Planning

I have had a few requests to publish an article/booklet on personal financial planning.

Please indicate by email response if you would be interested in reading something on this subject.

I would probably make this available as a download on my book store.

Cashflow Quadrant by Robert T. Kiyosaki with Sharon L. Lechter

Rich Dad’s Cashflow Quadrant will reveal why some people work less, earn more, pay less in taxes, and feel more financially secure than others. It is simply a matter of knowing which quadrant to work from and when.It is a book written for…

  • people who are ready to move beyond job security and begin to find their own world of financial freedom.
  • people who are ready to make deep professional and financial changes in their lives.
  • people who are ready to move from the Industrial Age to the Information Age.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

If Thinking Big accomplishes so much, why doesn’t everyone think that way?…… All of us, more than we recognise, are products of the thinking around us.And much of this thinking is little, not big. All around you is an environment that is trying to tug you, trying to pull you down Second Class Street. You are told almost daily that there are “too many chiefs and not enough indians.” In other words, that opportunities to lead no longer exist, that there is a surplus of chiefs, so be content to be a little guy.
Leading people in all occupations will tell you ….. “the trouble is there are too many indians and not nearly enough chiefs.”
David Schwartz proves that you need not have a great intellect or great talent to be a giant among men; but you do need the habit of thinking and acting in a manner which brings success.

De Bono's Thinking Course by Edward de Bono

Is the way you think like the colour of your eyes – something you are born with and cannot alter? Or is thinking a skill that can be improved with practice, like swimming, tennis or cooking?
In this provocative book, which has already sold over 90,000 copies, Edward de Bono demonstrates how the techniques of thinking can be enhanced and improved through attention, practice and the use of simple tools, such as lateral thinking, CAF (Consider All Factors) and AGO (Aims, Goals and Objectives). He shows that the operating skill of thinking is, in fact, quite different from intelligence and reveals how many intelligent people are actually bad thinkers because they are caught in the ‘intelligence trap’. Each part of this book covers an important aspect of thinking, such as Perception, Making decisions, dealing with Emotions and values, Negotiation, Focus and The future. The book is illustrated throughout with de Bono’s own diagrams.
Edward de Bono is considered by many to be the world’s leading authority on the direct teaching of thinking as a skill. His methods are widely used in many countries – with education, with business and with ecology groups. He is perhaps best-known as the inventor of the term ‘lateral thinking’.
